“What energy are we collectively moving through this week?” Ten of Coins- Many of us have been moving through a great deal of weight in recent weeks. For almost everyone I’ve spoken to, Cancer season and the recent New Moon Eclipse have felt very heavy or intense. This week is a moment of abundance amidst the challenge. This week there is a culmination of the work we’ve been doing that creates some space to receive beauty or joy, or perhaps a gift in another form.
This Ten, and the Ten of Cups as well, can be very challenging for some of us. They paint pictures of familial happiness that can be triggering or hard to trust. With all we’ve been moving through in recent days, we might be distrustful of any gifts we receive at this time. They may feel too good to be true, or like a cartoon band-aid on a gaping wound. Let us aim this week to hold space for receiving, for moments of beauty even in the face of hardship, for levity even amidst the weight we might carry.
“What do we need to embody to move through this energy?” Seven of Cups (RX)- To truly live in the gifts of this week, we must be paying attention. It is easy to be distracted by things we believe will serve us but that are not truly for us. It is easy just to be distracted. Instead of looking for what might be over there, let us look at what is directly in front of us. In order to see our true gifts we need to make time and space to allow our intuition and heart to speak through us.
This week we can cultivate a practice of carving out time each day, away from distractions to just listen. No TV, no reading, no working, no writing, no housework or errands. If you’re like me and you often use tarot or other divination practices to channel your intuition, by all means use those tools this week, but I invite you to consider this a separate practice. This also is not meditation. While many of these are powerful practices for healing, for balance and self care this week we are being asked to make space just to notice. Can we find five or fifteen minutes to do this each day this week? Some of us may find even more time, an hour or so (but I’m the first to admit, it’s unlikely to be me). Outside on the ground, on your couch, in bed, wherever you feel comfortable. What do you see? What do you hear? What do you feel? What comes up in your heart as truth when you sit with yourself and the world around you?
Notice what real beauty is available to you this week. Notice what gifts you are receiving and leave room for them to look different than you may expect.
